Work Planned on Interstate 79 Bridge in the City of Erie
Oil City, PA– Tomorrow employees from the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation’s Erie County facility will be doing routine maintenance work on the bridge that carries Interstate 79 over the CSX railroad tracks between Route 5 and Route 20 in the City of Erie.
Motorists should be alert for lane restrictions on I-79 near the bridge as well as the ramp from Route 5 (12th Street) to I-79 southbound. The lane closures are expected to be in place from 6:00 AM to 4:00 PM on May 23, 2024.
Drivers should use alternate routes if possible as travel delays in that area are likely throughout the day.
PennDOT urges motorists to slow down when driving in work zones, and also to be alert to changing conditions, avoid distractions and to pay attention to signs and flaggers. Drive responsibly in work zones for your safety and the safety of the workers.
