Erie County to Host Substance Use Disorder Awareness and Medication-Assisted Treatment Educational Forum

Erie, PA – The Erie County Office of Drug and Alcohol, in collaboration with its Regional Recovery Hub, will host a Substance Use Disorder (SUD) Awareness and Medication-Assisted Treatment (MAT) Educational Forum on Thursday, July 24, 2025, from 9:30 AM to 1:00 PM at the Jefferson Educational Society, located at 3207 State Street, Erie, Pennsylvania.

This free, community-focused public forum supports Erie County’s ongoing efforts to educate the community about Substance Use Disorders, combat stigma, and promote access to proven treatment options, with a focus on locally available Medication-Assisted Treatment (MAT) services.

The forum will feature a panel discussion from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM, with expert speakers representing 10 local treatment agencies, including clinical professionals specializing in SUD and co-occurring disorders, as well as a Certified Recovery Specialist (CRS) who will offer a personal perspective through lived experience.

Following the panel, attendees are invited to explore a resource fair from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM, where 25 local organizations will provide materials and information on treatment access, recovery supports, and other vital community resources.

This event is open to the general public, including health and human service professionals, individuals in or seeking recovery, and anyone interested in learning more about SUD, MAT, and local treatment pathways.
