The Erie County Long Range Transportation Plan (LRTP) guides transportation policy, project prioritization, and decision-making for Erie County over a 27-year timeframe. The LRTP is updated every five years, and the Erie Metropolitan Planning Organization (MPO) is currently overseeing an update to the plan with the help of a consultant, Whitman, Requardt and Associates (WRA).
The MPO members include PennDOT; the Erie Metropolitan Transit Authority (EMTA), Erie Regional Airport Authority (ERAA), and Erie-Western PA Port Authority (EWPPA); the County of Erie; and municipal officials.
This study is sponsored by Erie County Department of Planning and Community Development with funding from the Federal Highway Administration (FHWA), Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) and County of Erie.
