Erie County reports 14 new positive cases of COVID-19; cumulative case total is 20,908

Erie, PA – County Executive Kathy Dahlkemper and Erie County Department of Health announce 14 new positive cases of COVID-19 have been reported in Erie County as of 11:59 p.m. on May 24. 

The total cumulative cases of COVID-19 in Erie County since March 2020 is 20,908 with 468 deaths reported in the National Electronic Disease Surveillance System (NEDSS). Currently there are 872 active cases in Erie County, and 19,568 cases have recovered and been released from isolation, using the Pennsylvania Department of Health’s estimations.

All unvaccinated residents are reminded to wear a mask that covers their nose and mouth when near anyone who does not live inside their home, keep a 6-foot distance from others, stay home when feeling ill, wash hands frequently, and limit activities outside of their homes.

The last regular weekly COVID-19 press briefing will take place Wednesday, May 26, at 3 p.m.
