Erie, PA – The Erie County Public Library announces its next event in support of the poet community, Fall Poetry Symposium: Publishing & Poetry. This event is presented in partnership with Erie County’s Poet Laureate initiative. The symposium will bring together an Erie-area published poet and several publishing industry representatives to talk about their experiences in publishing poetry.
Poets and those interested in becoming published are encouraged to register in advance through the link below for active participation in the Q&A session. The event will take place virtually via Zoom and will be simulcast on the library’s Facebook page @ErieLibrary.
Featured Speakers:
- Matt Borczon is a nurse and Navy sailor from Erie, Pa. He has written thirteen books of poetry for a number of presses and has appeared in hundreds of journals, both online and in print. He was the first recipient of the Erie Arts and Culture emerging artist grant and has been nominated for both the pushcart prize and the best of the Net. His work is taught in colleges around the country as part of an intro to poetry textbook, and he continues to write daily. Borczon has four kids and has been married for 34 years to a really patient woman.
