Erie, PA – The Erie County Public Library announces a Request for Qualifications (RFQ) from artists interested in designing the pedestal for the recently returned Minerva statue at Blasco Library.
Artist submissions are due Feb. 28.
The library seeks to find an artist to work with stakeholder groups in designing the final pedestal, incorporating several stages of community engagement. The artist will be responsible for creating a fabrication-ready design. Labor and fabrication will be completed by Gene Davis Steel Supply of Erie. All artists – especially designers, architects and sculptors – are invited to submit their qualifications.
The library is working closely with Erie Arts & Culture to disperse the RFQ to qualified artists and will together host an Artist Listening Session on Thursday, Jan. 23 at 5 p.m. to discuss three artist opportunities, one of which being the Minerva pedestal, and to address any questions regarding the application process and required submission materials.
Full details can be found in the RFQ.
