
Brian Shank has represented Erie County Council’s District 5 since 2020. Shank is serving his second term as Vice-Chair of Council’s Personnel Committee, sits on the Pleasant Ridge Manor Board of Trustees, the Erie County Election Board, and is a member of the COVID Impact & Economic Revitalization Committee. He is liaison to Erie County Cooperative Extension, Erie County Department of Corrections, Erie County General Authority, Erie County Sheriff’s Department, Erie County Veterans Affairs Department, Local Emergency Planning Commission, and Wesleyville Borough.
Shank, a U.S. Army veteran, is a retired Pennsylvania Department of Corrections employee. He is a volunteer firefighter and fire police officer. As a former police officer himself, Shank has displayed his public support for all service officers. He is known in the Erie Community for his Back-the-Blue Rally’s, raising awareness for those in uniform. Additionally, Mr. Shank co-sponsored an effort to provide additional CARES Grant Funding to Volunteer Fire Departments in Erie County.
Shank stands strong on his commitment to lowering taxes and being fiduciarily responsible to the citizens of Erie County.
Shank attended the U.S. Army M.P. and Photography schools and Diablo Valley Community College. He is a graduate of Harbor Creek High School.
He lives in Harborcreek Township with wife, Brenda, and has two children.
