Stay of Sale Agreements
You are hereby notified that partial payments made on outstanding delinquent taxes, via this web site, DO NOT automatically generate a Stay of Sale Agreement/Installment Plan. Stay of Sale Agreements have specific restrictions, such as a minimum 25% down payment, and require a listed owner(s) sign the Agreement.
Stay of Sale Agreements are NOT Available to be entered online. It is required that an owner listed on the Deed of the property report to Erie County Courthouse, 140 West Sixth Street, Room 110 when entering into a Stay of Sale Agreement. State issued identification or Passport are required to enter into an agreement along with a minimum installment payment of twenty-five percent (25%) of the most recent two years of delinquent taxes owed, along with full payment of any prior unpaid taxes. Please call the office in advance to receive a quote for the required down payment and monthly installments – (814) 451-6206.
NOTE: Per Pennsylvania Real Estate Tax Sale Law – If a party to an installment agreement (AKA Stay of Sale) defaults on the agreement, the Bureau shall not enter into a new installment with that person within three (3) years of default (72. P.S. 5860.603).
Payments are accepted in the Tax Claim Bureau Office located in the Erie County Courthouse, 140 West Sixth Street, Room 110. The office is open Monday through Friday 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM. Please note that this office is closed for all County Holidays.

Online Payments:
- Search for the property in question.
- After finding the desired property in the search results, click the parcel ID link to view the parcel profile.
- Click the “Taxes” link near the top of the page.
- At the bottom of the tax profile page, there is a link to pay delinquent taxes. Follow the on-screen instructions to enter your payment information.
