Erie County’s Tax Claim and Revenue Office collects all delinquent taxes for Erie County; for the City of Erie and other municipalities; and for school districts in the county.
The Tax Claim and Revenue Office, which is one of three divisions in the Erie County Department of Finance, has two functions:
- The Tax Claim bureau disburses funds to various taxing authorities and conducts various tax sales in accordance with Pennsylvania Real Estate Tax Sale Laws.
- The Revenue bureau is responsible for issuing various state and county licenses, payment of witness fees, and receipting and depositing county funds.
