County Executive to hold press conference announcing projects to expand State-Licensed Recovery House Services

Erie, PA – County Executive Brenton Davis and the Erie County Office of Drug and Alcohol will hold a press conference announcing three new projects to expand state-licensed residential recovery services.

Based on local needs assessments and community input, Erie County will expand Pennsylvania Department of Drug and Alcohol Programs-licensed Recovery House services, which are currently limited in the county’s continuum of care. This will include:

  • Pyramid Healthcare will open two 8-bed DDAP-licensed Recovery Houses—one for men and one for women (locations TBD).
  • Snug Harbor will open a 16-bed DDAP-licensed Recovery House for men on its existing campus.

Licensed Recovery Houses provide abstinence-focused, peer-supported housing for individuals recovering from substance use disorders. They offer structured services, peer support, and a stable environment, serving as a crucial step after client’s complete more intensive levels of treatment.

These projects, funded through Erie County’s Opioid Settlement allocation, have been endorsed by the Pennsylvania Opioid Misuse and Addiction Abatement Trust. The new Recovery Houses are set to open later this year, providing vital support for individuals on their recovery journey.
