Erie County Public Library Announces Jessica Stefano as New Director

 

Erie, PA- The Erie County Public Library (ECPL) is pleased to announce the appointment of Jessica Stefano as the new Director of the Erie County Public Library. A life-long resident of Erie County, Jessica brings a wealth of knowledge, experience, and a passion for community service to her new role.

Jessica Stefano holds a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology with a minor in English from Cedar Crest College in Allentown, PA. She is also a 2024 graduate of the Masters of Science in Library Science Program at Pennsylvania Western University. Additionally, Jessica is a 2023 graduate of the Pennsylvania Library Association’s (PaLA) Academy of Leadership Studies and serves as a member of the PaLA PA Forward Literacies Committee.

Jessica began her career with ECPL in the spring of 2022 as the Iroquois Branch Manager. In December 2023, she transitioned to the role of Youth Services Manager and, in May 2024,
stepped in as Interim Director. Her prior experience includes serving as the Assistant Director of Education and a Certified Interpretive Guide at Asbury Woods Partnership.

Throughout her career, she has developed strong relationships with colleagues from various regional organizations with complementary missions. She looks forward to leveraging these connections and partnerships to maximize the library’s positive impact on the Erie community.

“I am honored to take on this new role and excited to continue working with the dedicated team at the Erie County Public Library,” said Jessica Stefano. “Our library is a vital resource for the
community, and I look forward to enhancing our services and programs to meet the evolving needs of our patrons.”

County Executive Brenton Davis expressed his enthusiasm for Jessica’s appointment, stating, “Jessica’s experience and dedication to our community make her an excellent choice for Director of the Erie County Public Library. Her vision and leadership will undoubtedly strengthen the library’s role as a cornerstone of education and enrichment in Erie County.”
